📖 Overview

The Sony DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 (SAL-1870) was the APS-C kit zoom bundled with Sony's first Alpha DSLR, the A100, in 2006, and is a rebadged Konica Minolta DT design. Its 11-element/9-group optical formula uses aspherical and ED glass and a 7-blade diaphragm, covering a useful 27-105mm equivalent range with a 0.25x maximum magnification at 70mm. Autofocus is driven by the camera body's screw-drive motor with no in-lens stabilization, since A-mount image stabilization is sensor-shift based in the body.
