📖 Overview
The Nikon AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED is the F-mount ultra-wide zoom that reset expectations for FX-format wide angles when it launched in August 2007. Its 14-element, 11-group optical formula uses two ED and three aspherical elements to hold sharpness across the frame at every focal length, and the constant f/2.8 aperture pairs well with low-light and astrophotography work. A Silent Wave Motor drives autofocus with full-time manual override, and the internal focus and zoom design keeps the front element still. The bulbous, dome-shaped front provides 114° at 14mm but does not accept standard screw-in filters, and the lens weighs 1,000g in a 98 x 131.5mm barrel.
