A term that is a relatively new addition to the photographer’s jargon, smartphone photography is something that has been born out of the influence of digital technology on photography. A platform that has been popularized by the influx of increasing powerful phone cameras.
Smartphones have gone on from having small puny cameras which appeared like an afterthought and produced nothing better than pixilated small files, to become high-resolution cameras capable of producing RAW files even rivaling the performance of proper cameras in the right hands.
Smartphone photography uses many of the same techniques that are used when photographing with proper cameras. That said these techniques are often tweaked to accommodate the requirements of the platform.
Smartphone photography has some major advantages such as the large composing window that helps to see and compose better, built-in macro mode and above all apps that help produce creative effects.
