Seiko Epson or more popularly known as Epson is a Japanese brand producing a range of electronic products including but not limited to dot matrix printers, inkjet printers, laser printers, scanners, photo printer, and projector machines.
The company also manufactures a range of home theater televisions, small POS printers, cash registers, and even laptops.
But the one product that probably brought Seiko to the world map is digital timepieces. These days Epson is probably more popular because of their printers. Epson dot matrix printers are still in rampant use in some areas of the world, especially for large volume and continuous printing requirements.
Epson had a brief foray into the desktop segment of the electronics business. However, they had withdrawn from the market in just about 13 years.
Seiko has also manufactured digital cameras – introducing the first digital rangefinder systems. The sensor inside the camera was smaller than the traditional 35mm camera sensor. The camera was compatible with Leica’s screw mount lenses because of its compatibility with the Leica M mount.
